Vale Distinguished Professor James Barrie Kirkpatrick AM 1946 – 2024
Distinguished Professor James Barrie Kirkpatrick AM, one of the Royal Society’s most prestigious members and prolific contributor, died on 21 October 2024 in Hobart. Professor Kirkpatrick was awarded the RST Clive Lord Medal in 2019 for his outstanding research on Tasmania’s natural environment and maintained a publication record in the Society’s Journal which spanned half a century. Vale Professor David Headley Green AM FAA FRS, 1936 – 2024
