Vale Distinguished Professor James Barrie Kirkpatrick AM 1946 – 2024
Distinguished Professor James Barrie Kirkpatrick AM, one of the Royal Society’s most prestigious members and prolific contributor, died on 21 October 2024 in Hobart. Professor Kirkpatrick was awarded the RST Clive Lord Medal in 2019 for his outstanding research on Tasmania’s natural environment and maintained a publication record in the Society’s Journal which spanned half a century. Call for Nominations for the 2024 RST Doctoral (PhD) Awards
Nominations for the annual RST Doctoral Awards open on 1 October 2024. Two awards are offered for recent PhD graduates who have made significant advances in the course of their doctoral research. The value of each award is $1,000 (AUD).

Vale Professor David Headley Green AM FAA FRS, 1936 – 2024
