Renewing your RST membership

To remain active, Ordinary membership must be renewed annually. The membership year runs from January 1 to December 31.

If you have already requested automatic renewal of your membership then you have nothing more to do. Your membership will be renewed automatically at the end of each year.

If you have not requested automatic renewal but would like to take advantage of this option, follow the instructions at the end of this page.

Otherwise you must take action now to renew your membership.

Note however that, regardless of which method is used, renewal of your membership means that you agree to abide by the RST Code of Conduct and agree to the RST Privacy Policy.

How to renew your RST membership

1. Pay the membership subscription by bank transfer.

The simplest option is to transfer the correct membership subscription to the RST bank account giving your name as the reference. Then send an email to admin@rst.org.au advising that the transfer has been made and giving details of any changes to your personal contact information.

RST Bank Account: Royal Society of Tas, BSB 067 000, Acc Number 0080 0763, Commonwealth Bank
Reference: Your Name

2. Pay via the RST online shop

You can use this link to access the membership subscription page in the RST online shop. Choose your type of membership using the dropdown menu beside “Membership” — full or student member, with or without the Papers and Proceedings of the RST. Click on “Add to basket” then “Checkout”.

An online form will open. Please enter your current personal details. Be careful to enter your email address correctly because you will receive the receipt by email. To make your payment, click on the “Proceed to Paypal” button at the bottom of the form. You can pay either from your Paypal account or your credit card. After you’ve completed that step, you will return to the Society online shop where you will be asked for your email address for the receipt again.

3. Use the “Membership Renewal” form

The “Membership Renewal” form is available as a PDF file using this link.

This form allows you to update your contact details and change the subscription type if desired. Payment options include bank transfer, cheque and credit card.

To enter information on the form, two methods are available.

  • Download and print the PDF, fill it out by hand, and then either email a scanned copy or post it to the address on the form or deliver it in person to the RST office at TMAG, Davey St, Hobart.
  • Download the form and fill it in using a program such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. The completed form can then be electronically signed, saved, and emailed to the email address on the form.

4. Renew over the phone by credit card

You can also renew your membership by credit card over the phone on 03 6165 7014 (check the Contact Us page for current opening hours). You can inform the RST of any changes to your personal contact information in the same call.

Automatic Renewal facility

On the “Membership Renewal” form available here you can request to have your membership renewed automatically each year by credit card. Provide your credit card details on the form, and tick the relevant box at the bottom of the PDF renewal form.

We will notify you of any future changes to subscription rates at least one month before the annual renewal date.

You can opt out of automatic renewal or change your credit card details at any time by notifying the Society by email (admin@rst.org.au), phone (03 6165 7014), or using the Contact Us page on this website.
