RST Apology to Tasmanian Aboriginal people 2021.
Orders are now open for the first comprehensive catalogue of the nationally significant Royal Society of Tasmania Art Collection, A World Apart.
The catalogue features more than 900 artworks, many of which capture the unique landscapes, flora and fauna of Tasmania through the eyes of nineteenth century artists.

The editors, Marley Large and Anita Hansen, have combined stunning full-colour images of watercolour artworks, etchings and engravings with insights from artists and art historians.
RST Art Co-ordinator Marley Large said, “We expect A World Apart to become the primary reference for researchers of Tasmanian nineteenth century colonial art and the book will also appeal to lovers of Australian art and history”.
A World Apart can be ordered through the RST Shop.
The pre-order price of $88 will be available until 17 October 2026, after which the price will increase to $99. RST members can use the coupon code at checkout at any time to receive a 10% discount on the current price.
The book can also be ordered in person by attending the RST Office on Thursdays between 9 am and 12 noon.
Delivery will commence once stock arrives in November 2026.
