Support the RST Library and Art Fund

The Royal Society of Tasmania is seeking donations to its Library and Art Fund to support the conservation and exhibition of the Society’s unique art collection.

The Royal Society of Tasmania owns over 900 significant, mostly Tasmanian artworks. Most works have never been seen by Tasmanians and the wider community. The RST Art Collection provides unique artistic, historical and social insights into the colonial era in Tasmania. Among the highlights are iconic landscapes, scenes, portraits and natural history illustrations.

You can find out more about the Collection here.

A number of these artworks are in urgent need of restoration and conservation and may be lost forever without your financial support. We are working to catalogue and conserve these artworks ready for display. We aim to raise $500,000 over the coming years for professional conservation and to mount exhibitions.

Donations of any amount are much appreciated and donations over $2 may be tax deductible for Australian taxpayers. Donors of $5000 and above will be recognised as Patrons of the RST Art Collection at events and on promotional materials. Bequests specifically for the RST Art Collection are very welcome. Exhibition sponsors ($10,000, $25,000 or $50,000) will receive naming rights and publicity for a specific themed exhibition.
